A smart thermostat plugs into your boiler system, there’s also a second component which is similar to a traditional thermostat and will be placed on the wall in your property somewhere. The next part of the device is an app which will be downloaded onto a smartphone or tablet, this being similar to a remote control thermostat, allowing you to change the temperature on your phone or portable computer.
All three parts of the electronic thermostat device will communicate with each other, you change the temperature via the app, which connects to the device in your home, which then communicates with the plug on your boiler, changing to the temperature you requested.
